War Strategies

The Objective of War is to WIN which requires getting more STARS than our Opponent. We utilize several Strategies to accomplish this goal in order to advance our Alliance to the next Level and garner the spoils that come with it.

Once War has been declared and the Opponent Selected via the Game's Algorithm, Leadership will Assess the Opponent and determine the best Strategy to wage War with.

Unfortunately - the Game's Algorithm doesn't always pit us against an equal opponent. There are many reasons for this including what other Teams are currently searching for War at the same time we are. It may find us an opponent where we can score some AXP and STARS, or it may find us an opponent that we can entirely eliminate in just a few hours. It's all in the luck of the draw!

One of the Algorithm Manipulations that we employ is to make our team as large as it can be. This is because the Game Algorithm weighs the strength of the entire Team when finding opponents rather than just the Members who are selected for the War. Therefore, if nearly all our Members are in, the likelihood that we will find an equally matched opponent is increased. However - it isn't a foolproof system. Sometimes the only other team searching at the same time we are is either vastly inferior or vastly superior to us!

Nevertheless - someone from Leadership is bound to be online during War (since War is our most precious activity) and can determine the best Strategy to employ, or give real time direction during War.

  • The Backfill Strategy

When facing a Superior Opponent across the board, we employ a Strategy known as "Backfill."

This is a very simple Strategy that is designed to get us the most STARS we can to try to win. Despite how simple the Strategy is - it really requires a coordinated effort by our entire Team.

We begin by having our lowest ranks attack their lowest ranks, level for level. This means (in say for example a 20 on 20 WAR) that our 20 would attack their 20. If our 20 gets 5 STARS, then our 19 attacks their 19. If our 19 gets 5 STARS, then our 18 attacks their 18 - and so on down the line. We keep this up until someone doesn't get all 5 STARS.

At that point, we begin to Backfill. Say for example, we stumble at 14 - our 14 gets less than 5 STARS on their 14. In that case, our 13 would then attack their 14 to get 5 STARS. They would then continue with their second attack on their 13, and so on until we stumble again.

As we proceed down the line, we may increasingly have to Backfill as the opponents War Bases get increasingly tougher. This means we may actually end up with our 9 attacking their 11 and 12 (if we had to Backfill that much.)

If it becomes evident that the opponent will win the War regardless of how many STARS we get, the higher ranked will begin modifying the backfill to shoot entirely for AXP rather than full on victory. We only need to get 1 STAR on an opponent's War Base in order to declare a victory, and gain the AXP to advance our Alliance.

Nevertheless, if our opponent's team members aren't as active as ours are - we can actually win the War with this Strategy because - even though they may utterly NUKE our highest players, their lack of Team participation may cost them the War since we were busy getting as many STARS as we could!

  • The Midfill Strategy

When facing a relatively equal Opponent with weaker top end and low end members, but a pretty strong middle, we employ a Strategy known as "Midfill."
